Obstacles in Visualization

The Obstacles (part 1)

Along with any goal we are trying to accomplish, we will always be faced with obstacles. When we visualize for the purpose of manifesting, it is no different. Obstacles will come in the way, challenges, difficulties and sometimes, if we are not careful, we can let these derail us. We can allow these things to get us down when we feel that they are insurmountable or we let challenges get us down or discourage us and then we can stop visualizing and we can lose the progress we have made thus far. See that is what happens when we stop visualizing – we do lose the progress we have made over the time that we have worked at seeing it. It’s like when a continuum comes to an end and the progress is interrupted – same is true here. When we stop seeing it, the continuum is interrupted and our progress is lost. We don’t want that to happen because we are looking for the realization of this goal and so we have to be smart about how we handle opposition when it comes. We also want to be respectful of the time and efforts taken thus far in your visualizing efforts thus far and to keep going with the efforts.

So that means that we have to handle opposition decisively and swiftly – by tackling it or them and continuing on our way. Tackling them means that we see how we can get around this problem. Take some time and think carefully about the obstacle in the way and how it can be overcome. Every problem has a solution and we sometimes just need to be a little bit creative in how we access and see that problem overcome. It is a process but it is really important that we engage in seeing the solution because on the other side of that obstacle lies the realization of what you want. Oftentimes, I spend time seeing the challenge lifted or removed…without my having to do anything, I just see the problem as gone. Removed. I also regularly take time to pray that God removes the obstacle so that I can continue my progress.

Got a bad test result? Make some amendments and try again. Didn’t get into the program you wanted? Find out where you may have gone wrong, make some changes and get back to it. Got rejected by someone you were dating? See if it’s something that can be worked out and keep seeing the happy and healthy relationship you desire as something you already have…you will see how things will either turn around with that person or someone new will enter the picture. The trick with visualizing is to always see yourself as having it now…you possess it today. You don’t possess it in a week or a month from now. You possess it today and this is really important. Because in the Bible, God called Abraham the father of many nations. In present time. So God calls something as though it is now. Not in some distant future time. When we get into agreement with God and we state that we already have it, God turns things around so that the attainment of it is yours. If you continue to talk about it as though it will be, it will continue to be in the future and you will not have it until perpetually later.

Again, I speak from my own experiences here and I can tell you that visualizing in this way and staying in faith works. It works each time and it is a Science coupled with faith. Also, when we take the time to see something through and knock out the challenges, we signal to God and to people that I am willing to work through this and defeat the challenge. In fact, it isn’t a bad idea to increase the intensity of your visualizations and how clearly you see that mental picture when the opposition comes. Praying for God to help you by taking away the challenges so that you can realize this goodness is also really helpful because God can move challenges out of your way that you simply cannot. His power is unmatched.

I recall when I was trying to visualize something I really wanted to happen, I could sense that it was nearing and then opposition came in the form of someone being extremely belligerent to me and incessantly calling me. It was actually a bit of a scary experience because the person would call again and again and kept texting as well, demanding that I speak to him while he was yelling at me. I had to turn off my ringer and pray for God to help me by taking that problem away. Sure enough, the person did go away and I was able to see the manifestation of what I had been visualizing but it was scary and I of course didn’t enjoy that part of things. So, take the time to see what you desire and what God has put on your heart. Take the time to visualize it vividly and to see all parts of it. In fact, put on your vision board that these wonderful things come to you easily and effortlessly…that too is a good signal to put out that you want these good things to come to you easily and effortlessly.

Another thing that is important to mention in a series about overcoming visualization challenges is when people don’t seem to have time to work on this consistently. I have to emphasize here that it is absolutely required for you to work on this each day, because that is what it takes to create this good thing in your life. It takes time to see and make a mindful picture of it in your mind’s eye and to make it as vivid as possible. So you have to make time in your day each day to do it and if you are struggling with that, remind yourself that this is your goal and that any goal takes time and effort to accomplish.

Another challenge can just be people who may hear that you are engaging in this and they don’t agree for whatever reason and they let you know that they don’t agree. Some people won’t take that very well and they will feel discouraged to keep going. A word of advice: don’t let that be you. It is a beautiful process and while it is mentally challenging at times, it is well worth the effort. Creating the life of beauty and joy that God has put on your heart is well worth the effort.

So whether it’s first thing in the morning with your coffee or right after work or in the evening after the work day and chores are done…just get it done. Not getting it done will mean that you didn’t put in the effort and then you won’t be engaging in visualizing to manifest…and that’s not what we want.

Work hard at this….see it as often as you can in your mind’s eye with as vivid a picture as possible, sustained for as long as you can hold it there. See yourself engaging in all parts of it and remember, the longer you hold the mental image, the more vivid this will be in your mind and the more your brain actually thinks you are experiencing…that is when all things begin to work for your benefit and shift and God is working to bring this to you. You hold this practice and within days, weeks or months, you will see this manifest.

The next episode will deal with another set of challenges that may present themselves.

Thanks for tuning in.
